Three Bridges Recruitment is currently partnering exclusively with an Edinburgh-based organisation who are currently recruiting for a Finance Analyst on a permanent basis.  This role represents a fantastic opportunity for (ideally) a Part Qualified Accountant or Assistant Accountant who is keen to complete their studies at the same time as working in a highly rewarding and supportive team environment in Edinburgh city centre.

In this varied and wide-ranging role, you will gain exposure and develop your skills in management accounting, statutory accounting, budgeting, reporting and business partnering.

The role is ideally a full-time position; however, consideration will also be given to candidates wishing to work on a part time basis (3.5 days minimum).

Job

The role of Finance Analyst will give you the opportunity to be involved with the following:

• Preparing weekly and monthly commercial and management reports
• Reviewing financial data for accuracy and integrity
• Analysing variances with a focus on profit margins, stock, and wages
• Supporting the Head of Finance in the preparation of statutory accounts
• Assisting in the budget and forecasting processes
• Developing management reports and month end processes
• Working with various departments to support their financial analysis needs
• Providing ad-hoc duties, training, and finance function cover as required

You

As a Finance Analyst you will be skilled &/or qualified in the following:

• Part Qualified (PQ) Accountant / Assistant Accountant or a desire to work towards
• Good knowledge of financial accounting systems and processes
• Experience in financial reporting and variance analysis
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with multiple stakeholders
• Proficient with accounting software and MS Office, particularly Excel (essential) and Sage 200 (desirable)
• Ability to deliver presentations and training on financial matters
• A customer service-driven approach and a positive can-do attitude
• Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
• Any experience of the Charity SORP would be advantageous
