Purpose of Job
|
Ensure that the firm’s financial management systems work effectively, by reviewing and processing accounting transactions. Ensuring at all times you support the cash room manager to deliver a high level of service and maintain compliance with the Law Society of Scotland rules.. |
Main duties and responsibilities
|
Accurately processing financial transactions by verifying the details, communicating these to staff and ensuring the correct postings are made |
Accurately processing payments, verifying the details are correct when entering and correctly checking the details when acting as approver. |
Reviewing and posting slips into Proclaim, ensuring the details make sense and there is support for the amounts processed |
Ensuring the bank accounts are monitored to ensure payments and receipts are notified promptly. Ensuring the resultant postings are correct, even if this means a delay in them being posted to an individual matter |
Petty cash reconciliation for head office and branch offices |
Working with the Cash room Manager to ensure the reconciliation of previous day’s bank account to client trial balance, including SSDA |
Ensuring all postings are made using the agreed processes and ensuring checks are made to verify the postings |
Communicating with Bank, other organisations and internal staff to ensure the details of payments or receipts are accurate |
Ad hoc duties as required |
