Three Bridges Recruitment are currently working with a forward-thinking company who are based in Edinburgh. This company are looking for an Assistant Accountant for an initial 6-month Fixed Term Contract with a strong chance for the role to become permanent.  This is a varied role offering excellent exposure to both transactional & month-end responsibilities, ideal for someone looking to develop their experience across a broad finance remit.

You’ll work closely with the Finance Manager & wider team to ensure smooth day-to-day operations while also supporting key month-end tasks.

The Job

As an Assistant Accountant, you will be responsible for:

• Month-End Support – preparing accruals, prepayments & journal adjustments
• Fixed Asset Register – maintaining records & ensuring depreciation is recorded accurately
• Reporting & Analysis – assisting with financial reporting & variance analysis
• Process Improvement – identifying & supporting ways to streamline financial processes
• Accounts Receivable – posting income, raising invoices, chasing outstanding payments
• General Ledger – assisting with journal entries, reconciliations & maintenance of ledger accuracy
• Grants Processing – supporting the administration & financial management of grant funding

You

The role of Assistant Accountant will require an individual with:

• Experience in a similar finance role
• A strong grasp of double-entry bookkeeping
• Working knowledge of accruals, prepayments and fixed assets
• Confidence using Excel and finance systems
• Excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach
