Three Bridges Recruitment is delighted to be partnering with a well-established, UK-wide organisation that is centralising its finance function into a shared head office hub. This transformation is creating a stronger, more commercially focused finance team and an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Assistant Accountant to join at an exciting stage of growth.
This is a hands-on role suited to a real do’er. You will play a key part in the day-to-day running of the finance function while building the foundations for future progression, with a clear pathway towards Finance Business Partner.

Job
As Assistant Accountant, you will take ownership of key areas of the ledger and support the wider finance team with accurate and timely financial reporting.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Owning the general ledger and posting journals
- Preparing and reviewing intercompany reconciliations
- Managing prepayments and accruals
- Maintaining rent and rates schedules
- Preparing balance sheet reconciliations
- Maintaining the fixed asset register
- Supporting and fronting the audit process
- Assisting with month-end close and management reporting
- Supporting budgeting, forecasting and cost centre analysis
- Contributing to process improvements during systems migration
- Developing strong working relationships across the business to support financial accuracy and control
You
This role will suit someone who enjoys getting stuck in and taking responsibility. You will likely have:
- Experience working within an accounts department
- Hands-on experience with intercompany reconciliations, prepayments, accruals and general ledger ownership
- Experience posting journals and preparing balance sheet reconciliations
- Exposure to fixed asset registers and supporting audit processes
- Strong Excel skills including pivot tables, SUMIFs and VLOOKUPs
- Experience with ERP systems. SAP experience would be highly advantageous,
- Part-qualified accountant or studying towards ACCA, CIMA or ACA, with ambition to progress. Study support is available
- A proactive mindset with strong attention to detail
- The confidence to take ownership of your work and operate as a key member of the finance team
