Corporate Tax Assistant Manager – Mid-Tier Practice (Scotland)

What You’ll Be Doing:

Take ownership of a portfolio of corporate clients, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of tax compliance and advisory services.

Act as a reviewer for corporate tax returns, disclosures, and tax accounting work, providing feedback and support to more junior staff.

Collaborate across departments to ensure joined-up service delivery and strategic tax input where required.

Offer tailored tax advice on a wide range of matters – recent examples have included transaction structuring, international tax matters, capital allowances, and due diligence support.

Identify opportunities to broaden client relationships through added-value services.

Take part in mentoring and developing junior team members, helping them grow in confidence and technical ability.

Support operational enhancements across the tax function to drive improved workflows and efficiency.

Contribute positively to team morale and cultural initiatives.
What They’re Looking For:

Demonstrated experience in UK corporate tax, ideally with exposure to both compliance and advisory workstreams.

Ability to work independently on technical matters and to explain tax issues clearly to clients and colleagues.

Experience overseeing or guiding junior team members in a practice environment.

Strong time management and organisational skills, with confidence reviewing work and working to deadlines and budgets.

While formal qualifications (e.g. ATT, CTA, or CA) are valued, candidates with equivalent relevant experience will be equally considered.

Salary around £48 000 - £60 000
