Three Bridges Recruitment is pleased to be working with a well-established and highly regarded commercial organisation to recruit an Assistant Accountant, based in Clydebank. This role sits within a busy and collaborative finance team and offers excellent exposure to management accounting, client reporting and operational finance.

The Job

You will take ownership of delivering accurate and timely financial information to external clients. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing management accounts and funding requirements for key clients
  • Producing actual vs budget variance analysis in collaboration with budget holders
  • Working closely with operational teams to provide meaningful financial commentary
  • Acting as a point of contact for client queries and financial clarification
  • Managing full general ledger responsibilities for entities within your remit
  • Completing month-end balance sheet reconciliations
  • Resolving balances with internal stakeholders
  • Preparing and processing bank payments and reconciliations
  • Maintaining purchase orders, accruals and related balances
  • Supporting ad hoc reporting and finance tasks as required

You

This role would suit a motivated finance professional who enjoys working with data, deadlines and stakeholders. You will ideally have:

  • Experience working within a finance function
  • Experience processing general ledger transactions to trial balance
  • Strong Excel skills and confidence using accounting systems
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • The ability to prioritise workload and manage deadlines effectively
  • A proactive, flexible and positive approach
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships
  • A desire to learn and develop within a commercial finance team

It would be beneficial, but not essential, if you are:

  • Working towards a professional accounting qualification 
  • Experienced in management accounting or client reporting
  • Interested in process improvement and continuous development
