Job Description

Three Bridges Recruitment is working with a well-regarded professional services firm in Edinburgh city centre to recruit a Temporary Credit Controller for an initial 3–4 month assignment, with the potential to go permanent.

This role has been created to support the team through a particularly busy period.  You will work closely with an experienced and supportive credit control function, helping to reduce aged debt and maintain excellent client relationships.

The Job

As Temporary Credit Controller, you will focus on early-stage and mid-range debt, supporting the permanent credit controllers with high-volume caseloads. Duties will include:

  • Proactive credit control, including calling and emailing clients regarding outstanding balances
  • Managing a weekly list of clients with debts typically between 0–60 days, occasionally up to 90 days
  • Sending payment reminders and monthly statements
  • Taking payments and recording outcomes accurately
  • Resolving invoice queries through investigation and reconciliation
  • Maintaining up-to-date records on the in-house finance system
  • Assisting with improvements to credit control processes
  • Providing regular updates on debt status

This is not cold calling. All clients have already received invoices and contact is focused on confirming payment intentions.

To be successful in this role, you will be:

  • Motivated, trustworthy and comfortable working autonomously
  • Personable, professional and confident speaking with business clients
  • Organised, efficient and detail-focused
  • Experienced in credit control or a similar finance role
  • Comfortable working with finance systems (training provided on internal systems)
  • Positive in attitude and able to work collaboratively within a team

Sector experience is not essential, and you will be fully supported by the existing credit control and finance leadership team.
