Three Bridges Recruitment is delighted to be partnering with a highly respected charitable organisation to recruit a Head of Finance.  This is an outstanding opportunity to join the Senior Leadership Team of a purpose-driven organisation making a genuine difference to the lives of children and young people across Scotland.

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive, you'll provide strategic leadership across finance while also overseeing IT and administration functions. Working closely with the Board of Trustees and senior leadership team, you'll play a key role in shaping the organisation's long-term financial sustainability, supporting future growth and ensuring the organisation is well positioned for the challenges and opportunities ahead.

Job

The role of Head of Finance will give you the opportunity to:

  • Lead the organisation's finance function and contribute as a key member of the Senior Leadership Team
  • Develop long-term financial strategies, forecasts and financial plans to support organisational sustainability
  • Produce high-quality management information, budgets and forecasts to support strategic decision-making
  • Present financial information and recommendations to the Board of Trustees and senior stakeholders
  • Lead statutory reporting, audit and regulatory compliance activities
  • Manage cash flow, investments, reserves and financial risk
  • Support fundraising activity through financial modelling, grant reporting and funding applications
  • Oversee the organisation's finance systems, controls and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Provide leadership across IT, systems and administration functions
  • Drive improvements to financial processes, reporting and business systems
  • Lead, develop and mentor a multidisciplinary support services team
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including auditors, funders and professional advisers

You

As Head of Finance, you will ideally possess the following:

  • Qualified accountant strongly preferred, although exceptional senior finance leadership experience will also be considered
  • Significant experience leading finance within a complex organisation
  • Strong financial planning, forecasting and strategic modelling experience
  • Experience presenting financial information to Boards, Trustees or senior leadership teams
  • Proven ability to communicate complex financial information clearly to non-financial audiences
  • Experience leading and developing high-performing teams
  • Strong understanding of financial governance, statutory reporting and audit
  • Experience overseeing finance systems and driving process improvement
  • Ability to lead multiple corporate support functions and manage organisational change
  • Excellent stakeholder management, influencing and communication skills
  • Collaborative leadership style with resilience, adaptability and a practical approach
