Three Bridges Recruitment are recruiting for a Senior Finance Officer to join a leading Scottish charity. This is a key role within the Finance team, supporting a values-driven organisation dedicated to empowering people across Scotland to live meaningful and fulfilling lives.
Reporting to the Senior Finance Business Partner, you will play a lead role in delivering effective financial control, reporting, systems, and processes, supporting the wider Finance and Business Services department to deliver accurate, timely, and insightful financial information across the organisation.

Job
As Senior Finance Officer, you will
- Play a central role in maintaining robust financial controls and delivering accurate financial reporting
- Work closely with the Senior Finance Business Partner, providing support across all areas of finance operations
- Oversee monthly, quarterly and annual reporting cycles, VAT, payments, and fixed assets
- Produce monthly management accounts, KPI reporting, and analysis of variances to budget and forecast
- Support the Head of Finance to ensure financial controls are in place and maintained
- Lead on the preparation of quarterly VAT returns and maintaining the Fixed Asset Register
- Act as a systems super user for finance software, ensuring data integrity and control
- Assist with statutory accounts preparation and external audit processes
- Coordinate shared cost allocations across the organisation
- Contribute to budgeting, forecasting and wider finance team planning
- Act as deputy to the Senior Finance Business Partner when required
You
As Senior Finance Officer, you will:
- Bring technical skill, strong analytical ability, and a proactive, team-oriented approach.
- Hold a recognised accounting qualification (HND Accounts and/or AAT – essential)
- Have experience developed in a similar financial control or reporting role
- Possess strong systems skills and proven experience improving financial processes
- Be proficient in specialist financial systems and Excel
- Have knowledge of accounting regulations and compliance frameworks
- Be confident working in a large or complex organisation
- Display excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Be customer-focused, collaborative and adaptable
