Job Description

Three Bridges Recruitment is partnering with a leading UK-based technology organisation to recruit an Interim Assistant Management Accountant based in Edinburgh.

This is an urgent requirement due to a team gap, and our client is looking for someone who can start quickly and keep the management accounts function running smoothly during a handover period. If you are immediately available and confident operating in a fast-paced finance team, this could be an excellent short-term opportunity.

You will be joining a collaborative and sociable open-plan environment, working closely with experienced finance leaders who adopt a hands-off, trusting management style while remaining approachable and supportive.

The Job

Reporting into senior finance leadership, you will support the management accounts function and ensure reporting deadlines are met during a busy period.

Key responsibilities will include:

Supporting the monthly management accounts process, including posting journals, accruals and prepayments
Maintaining and reviewing the general ledger
Preparing balance sheet reconciliations, including bank and intercompany reconciliations
Assisting with VAT returns
Supporting actual vs budget analysis and updating reporting schedules
Producing ad hoc analysis as required
Liaising with transactional finance and procurement teams to ensure accurate coding

The priority for this contract is stability and continuity. You will be expected to take ownership quickly, ask the right questions, and keep reporting cycles on track with minimal supervision.

You

To be successful in this interim role, you will:

Have experience in a similar management accounts role
Be confident posting journals and preparing accruals and prepayments
Have strong Excel skills, including pivot tables and complex formulas
Be comfortable working with finance systems (NetSuite experience beneficial but not essential)
Be organised, detail-oriented and able to meet deadlines
Be proactive, communicative and comfortable working in a team-based office environment
