Three Bridges Recruitment has partnered with a well-established, international engineering and manufacturing business based in Dunfermline. This is a hands-on, operational finance role sitting at the heart of a true manufacturing environment, supporting cost control, product costing and commercial decision making across the site.

This is not a desk-bound reporting role. It is an opportunity to immerse yourself in the full manufacturing cycle, from raw materials through to finished product, working closely with operations, production and leadership.

Job

The role of Manufacturing Accountant will give you the opportunity to be involved with the following:

• Producing timely and accurate monthly management accounts
• Leading budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes
• Analysing performance and explaining variances to budget, forecast and prior year
• Managing product costing and cost accounting, including standard cost updates and variance analysis
• Ownership of labour variances, overhead absorption and margin analysis
• Managing stock costing and provisions including slow moving and obsolete stock
• Supporting ERP system development, reporting improvements and internal controls
• Partnering with operational managers to drive performance and cost control
• Proactively identifying improvements in finance and business processes

This role is deeply embedded in manufacturing operations and requires strong commercial awareness and confidence to challenge and ask questions.

You

As a Manufacturing Accountant you will ideally bring:

• Experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment
• Exposure to product costing, standard costing and variance analysis
• Understanding of sales revenue, cost of sales, margins and the full financial cycle
• Experience analysing labour costs, overheads and stock movements
• Management accounts exposure with the ability to explain performance
• ERP system experience such as Dynamics AX, Dynamics 365 or Business Central
• Strong Excel skills including Pivot Tables and lookups

You may be:

• Fully qualified (CIMA, ACCA, CA) or close to qualifying
• Or an ambitious Assistant Accountant within manufacturing ready for your next step

Crucially, you will be:

• Commercially curious
• Confident enough to present and explain numbers
• Comfortable working on-site in a hands-on production environment
• Proactive in asking questions and challenging assumptions
